Data Sources

Live scores, fixtures, standings, line-ups and match statistics on LiveFootbal.com are aggregated from licensed sports-data providers. This page lists the primary feeds behind the site and explains how frequently each is refreshed.

Match & competition data

Live scores, fixture lists, results, standings, top scorers and player line-ups come from API-Football, a commercial sports-data provider covering more than 1,100 competitions worldwide. Our servers poll live fixtures every few seconds during matchday and cache non-live data (upcoming fixtures, standings) for a short period to keep the site fast without stressing the underlying feed.

  • Live fixtures & events: refreshed every 30 seconds.
  • Upcoming fixtures: refreshed every 10 minutes.
  • Standings & top scorers: refreshed every 6 hours.
  • Team squads & player profiles: refreshed daily.

News

Third-party football news headlines are ingested from GNews and other licensed news APIs, filtered for football topics and displayed with a link back to the original publisher. We do not republish the full text of third-party news articles; we show the headline, source, publication time and a short excerpt only.

Historical archives

For records — all-time top scorers, competition winners, Ballon d'Or lists, World Cup history — we cross-reference official FIFA, UEFA, national federation and confederation archives before publishing.

Editorial content

Editorial articles, guides, previews and analysis pieces are written by LiveFootbal.com's editorial team. See our Editorial Policy for how we source, verify and edit those pieces.

Caching, freshness & downtime

When our upstream data provider is temporarily unavailable, we serve the last successfully cached response so the site remains usable. A cached response may occasionally be a minute or two behind real time; when that happens the UI displays a "loading…" state next to the affected data.

Corrections & requests

If you spot a data error (wrong score, missing goal-scorer, incorrect standings row) please report it via the Contact page. Corrections are handled per our Corrections Policy.
